Human Rights Film Center is going to organize Eighth virtual Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival in Nepal on 25-30 November, 2020 AD (10-15, Mangsir, 2077 BS).
The Inauguration session of the Festival is going to be held at 10:00 AM (Nepal Time) on November 25, 2020 through the virtual platform Zoom. The festival will be inaugurated by Hon. Minister Yogesh Bhattarai, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
This year, 52 films from 29 different countries have been shortlisted for the screening. In the festival all categories of films will be displayed including Featured films, Documentary film, Short films, Animation and more. Selected films will be bbroadcasted virtually through ‘Chalachitra TV’ app (https://www.chalchitra.tv) and the discussion will be carried out through Zoom platform.
After the film screening, the discussion series will be conducted with Film directors, film makers and films artist on different topics such as “Women in Asian Sinema: Better portrayal and participation”, “Youth on Nepali Cinema: What we want to see”, “Concern of Minorities: Role of Cinema”.
The co-organization of the festival is national Human Rights Commission and the festival is promoted by film development board. This festival is supported by European union, Germany Embassy for Nepal, Arts for peace, International Organization for migration (IOM) and solidarity by plenty of organizations, CSOs and networks.
